Marking its next chapter, Vintage Frames Company recently reopened its Montreal flagship just blocks away from its original location, L’Archive, in downtown St. Henri. The new location draws inspiration from, the colosseum at Caesars Palace, where Elton John played his residency in Las Vegas.

“My intention for the new Vintage Frames Company flagship was to create an environment and experience fit for Sir Elton John,” says CEO & Founder of Vintage Frames Company, Corey Shapiro. “Sir Elton John is my style icon and was the reason why I fell in love with eyewear. His eccentric style reinvigorated the optical industry and made eyewear fun again.”

Expressing a mix between Greek and Roman design cues, columns and marble are accented by modern touchpoints including bright LED lighting and AR visuals. To create an experience, every detail is informed by Shapiro’s travels around the world over the past two decades while he procured his vast collection of more than a million unique frames in his archive. Additionally, the flagship boasts a sleek white grand piano in the middle with the hopes of Sir Elton John blessing the keys one day.

“The older I get, the more pride I have for being able to represent Montreal on a global scale,” says Shapiro. “This store was created to be as spectacular of an experience in Montreal as it would be on 5th Avenue in New York City. I want to bring a feeling of pride for our retail experiences in our city.”

To celebrate the opening of the new flagship location, Vintage Frames Company also prepared a limited-edition pair of heart-shaped frames, an homage to an eyewear style synonymous with Elton John. The I Love VF Sunglasses features an 18 karat gold frame body accented by rope details and pink gradient lenses. Additionally, to mark the first store exclusive, Canadian eyewear name prepared the Full Cuban Link frames available in “Yellow Gold,” “White Gold” and “Rose Gold.”
