Leave it to SahBabii to describe his female interest as a “Trapezoid” — “Just like a lil’ kid, gotta pack a toy/ She got a small top with a big bottom like a trapezoid.” The Atlanta rapper dropped off one of the year’s most exciting and unpredictable projects with his third full-length LP Barnacles. Through 16 tracks and 40-minutes, he showcased his penchant for memorable one-liners and impeccable beat selection. Today he returns with a new visual for one of the many standouts on the album, “Trapezoid,” directed by Luca NV.

Barnacles serves as a proper follow-up to the criminally underrated 2018 effort Squidtastic and 2017’s S.A.N.D.A.S. It’s hard to pick a one-liner or simile that doesn’t standout on “Trapezoid” as SahBabii opens up with, “That chopper eat ‘em like crawfish/ Rock his whole body like Crawford.” Then there’s his, “Don’t make me get mean and grumpy/ Chopsticks like I’m eating dumplings.” At the end of the track there’s a Ruth’s Chris Steak House reference a bit too explicit to print here. He keeps the melodies simple yet experimental enough to warrant repeat listens, and the production by 12Roses and Deor is one of the finest offerings on the album.

“Trapezoid” follows other music videos from the album like “Ready To Eat” and “Tongue Deamon”.
