Les Basics Presents a Fresh Perspective For SS21 Lookbook
The brand’s SS21 collection is a counterpoint to “transient distractions.”

For its first capsule as part of Spring/Summer 2021, London-based Les Basics presents a fresh perspective on its direction, choosing to be less concerned with current trends or other distractions and opting for a more focused and concise approach.
Spurred on by the current climate, this collection – entitled “Let There Be Light” – is a step back to a more honest time in the brand’s history; that sees them experiment with textures and fabrics to create an everyday color palette.
Inspired by American sportswear, an oversized quarterback T-shirt and snap front baseball shirt features, while a patchworked cotton fleece jacket and bright red gilet are a nod to the brand’s very first collection. The crew and quarter-zip sweats have wrap-around pockets that are inspired by cycling jerseys and are finished with toggled bungee cords to complete and functional sportswear look.
Lightweight jackets arrive in a cotton rip-stop revere collared overshirt, while a Carpenter jacket in cotton peregrine also features seersucker pouch pockets. Trousers and shorts complete the collection, all crafted using the same cotton peregrine fabrics.
The “Let There Be Light” SS21 collection is set to drop in February 2021 and will be available from the Les Basics web store.
