Mackintosh and The Workers Club Link Up For FW20
A collection of high-end season-less menswear staples.
A new collaborative collection between a duo of British brands has launched, with the aim of providing an antidote to fast-fashion: outerwear specialists Mackintosh and essentials label The Workers Club.
The collaboration places an emphasis on the kind of seasonless, trend-agnostic pieces that are the mainstay of both brands: Mackintosh has produced practical essentials since its founding over 150 years ago. The Workers Club, which was launched in 2015, takes a similar approach, claiming to spend months perfecting the details on each of its outerwear pieces.
The Works Shell Jacket features a removable hood, bonded waterproof cotton and heat sealed seams throughout the interior of the jacket. Two gilets also feature; The Works Wool Gilet made of a khaki herringbone wool and the Puffy Vest in soft orange, a collarless style that can be easily worn as a layer or stand-alone jacket.
The Packable Parka is made of a lightweight technical three-layer bonded nylon, with a reflective drawstring waist sourced from Japan. The parka packs neatly into an internal bag concealed in the back making it the perfect travelling staple.
The capsule is finished with a variety of denim jackets, each available in raw indigo denim and a legacy five year wash. A selection of socks, in plain and varsity style with engineered stripes completes the capsule.
A release date is yet to be confirmed, but the collection will be available from The Workers Club and Mackintosh stores and online at www.mackintosh.com.
In other news, maharishi has delivered a cyberpunk-inspired “NYC MILTYPE” SS20 capsule.
