maharishi Delivers Cyberpunk-Inspired "NYC MILTYPE" SS20 Capsule
Taking cues from Luc Besson’s ’90s sci-fi ‘The Fifth Element.’
maharishi is celebrating the anniversary of its Tribeca flagship store with a brand new capsule dubbed “NYC MILTYPE.”
The assemblage features graphics inspired by Luc Besson’s ’90s sci-fi The Fifth Element that depicts a cyberpunk megalopolis New York City filled with flying cars and towers that reach for miles into the sky. The movie’s flying yellow B90 taxi is imagined over a series of monochromatic hoodies and long-sleeves. “MAHARISHI” branding is placed next to the print, complemented by a set of futuristic motifs, which also appear on a set of T-shirts. Rounding up the concise capsule is a black short-sleeve button-up that displays a colorful vignette of the film’s imaginative cityscape — made in Japan using eco-cupro twill from recovered cotton waste.
The capsule will be available on July 17, 11 a.m. EDT on maharishi’s website as well as it’s physical New York and London stores, ranging from $75 – $283 USD.
