British Olympic Team Sends Heartfelt Message to Tokyo
Emotionally recalling the 1964 Tokyo Olympics.
Sports lovers better get their tissues ready before watching this new video posted by Team GB. Led by British taekwondo 2016 Summer Olympics silver medalist, Lutalo Muhammad, the tear-jerking video matches Muhammad’s voice over archival footage of the 1964 games — the first Games to be telecasted internationally.
Set for a one year delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Games have been pushed to July 23, 2021, and Team GB is wasting no time in addressing the upset all the while showing support to Japan. The video touches on a few aspects that make Tokyo a unique host to the Games and promises that Team GB is making the most of the extra year to train and prepare for the momentous sporting event.
The video simply ends with, “Dear Tokyo, One year from now, we’ll meet again. With love, Team GB.” This national level of love can be viewed in the video above.
