thisisneverthat Preps Expansive Pokémon Partnership
A variety of graphic tees and accessories center around Pikachu, Gengar and Mew.

thisisneverthat has recently issued collaborations with brands ranging from New Balance to G-SHOCK, exploring the realms of its militaristic streetwear leanings. Now, the Seoul-based label is unexpectedly expanding its scope, realizing a gaming-centric joint effort with Nintendo‘s Pokémon franchise.
Though it isn’t part of the conventional Spring/Summer 2020 lineup, the Pokémon collaboration does include items key to thisisneverthat’s brand image, including boxy T-shirts, canvas dad caps and sturdy tote bags. These neutral-toned essentials are emblazoned with stylized imagery of three classic Pokémon: Pikachu, ghostly Gengar and the legendary Mew. Graphic wearables feature the visage of each character, alongside thisisneverthat branding, Pokédex specs and “GOTCHA!” text, the latter a reference to the in-game exclamation whenever a Pokémon trainer captures a new critter.
Accessories highlight the playful nature of the partnership, with a plush Pikachu keychain and printed AirPod cases serving as the crown jewels. There are plenty of other goods to be had, however, including iPhone cases, mugs and pins, all emblazoned with prints that match the core collection.
Get a closer look at the goods on thisisneverthat’s Instagram page and expect its website to host the drop on June 23.
Poké fans have more to look forward to, as Nintendo recently announced a new Pokémon Snap game.
