Nike Gifts Special Edition Kobe 5 Protro and KD 13 to EYBL's Class of 2020
The young hoopers received never-to-release Kobes and KDs with tie-dye print.
Although Nike had to cancel its Summer 2020 Elite Youth Basketball League, EYBL, it recently gifted out to the young ballers some special edition sneakers and apparel with tie-dye prints.
For many of us, the focal point within this EYBL 2020 drop is likely the Kobe 5 Protro, complete with a tie-dye-printed upper, a black and orange sole unit, and a blue ankle collar, tongue and lining. We haven’t seen a Nike Kobe sneaker release since the untimely passing of its namesake back in January of this year, so it’s a welcome sight seeing its return, even if the general public won’t be able to purchase.
Next, Nike delivered a KD 13, also with a tie-dye-printed, as well as a black and volt sole unit, and pink lateral Swoosh. And finally, the sneakers were joined by a selection of apparel, including a pink, bleach-dyed sweatsuit, black shorts, and two tees.
Unfortunately, this capsule will not release anywhere, but shout out to the EYBL class of 2020, you kids deserve it.
Here’s Nike’s official statement regarding the capsule:
As we announced on 5/31, the remainder of the 2020 EYBL season is cancelled due to the impact of COVID-19. This was not a decision taken lightly, but the health and safety of our athletes, families, fans and employees is our top priority. Although it will never replace the competition and recruiting opportunities, athletes will still be provided the attached footwear and apparel to commemorate our 2020 season. Included in their product package is the Kobe V Protro and KD 13. The 2020 EYBL athletes will always be part of the EYBL family.
