New Balance Unveils New Three-Layer Face Mask
The NB Face Mask V3 is lightweight, washable and features a moldable nose piece.
Starting today, New Balance is offering a newly designed face mask, called the NB Face Mask V3, for sale to the general public. This news comes after the company announced it has produced more than one million general-use face masks for the healthcare community since it began production in late March amid the coronavirus pandemic. In April, a team of industrial engineers and designers produced New Balance’s first face mask prototype.
Developed in consultation with local medical and R&D institutions, the NB Face Mask V3 is a three-layer, machine washable face mask with a moldable nose piece and stretchable ear loops. The three layers consist of a combination of polyester/TPU, suede polyester fabric, a polyurethane filtration foam and nylon tricot. Produced in New Balance’s Lawrence, Massachusetts factory, the non-sterile masks are structured in style, yet lightweight and breathable. The company is currently working on developing a new athletic mask that will be available for sale in limited quantities in July.
