Longines Pays Tribute to Rare 1957 Model With Blacked-Out Flagship Heritage
Paired with pink gold accents.
Inspired by the Flagship models of the 50’s and 60’s, Swiss luxury watchmaker Longines has now crafted a blacked-out and modernized iteration of the iconic dress watch, paired with pink gold highlights.
Forming part of the brand’s Heritage line, the new Flagship model comes in a wrist-friendly 38.5 mm stainless steel case in high polish, bearing beveled lugs that slightly slant inwards. The spotlight is no doubt on the black lacquered domed dial with an elegantly polished finish, paired with pink gold hands, indices, and branding and inscriptions in the same tone. Unlike the original mid-century models, however, you’ll find a few modernizing touches such as the open-dial small seconds and the black date wheel, both positioned at 6 o’clock. As for its movement, the timepiece is powered by the in-house 27-jewel L615 automatic, operating at 4Hz and holding a power reserve of 42 hours. Finishing the watch is then a black alligator strap with white stitching.
For those interested, the black dialed Longines Flagship Heritage is now available on the watchmaker’s website, retailing for $1,675 USD. Head over to learn more.
Elsewhere in watches, Omega has equipped its latest De Ville with a central tourbillon.
