AïE Mixes Bright Pop Colors and Nuanced Earth Tones for FW20
Riffing on vintage aesthetics with uncommon fits.

AïE‘s Fall/Winter 2020 lookbook is here, highlighting an eclectic combination of bold cuts and colors imagined by designer Kenta Miyamoto, former assistant to Nepenthes‘ Daiki Suzuki. The imagery follows AïE’s previous SS20 showcase from back in January.
This season’s offering is colored in sharp hues and nuanced earth tones, riffing on a distinctive vintage-inspired aesthetic with an array of delicate fabrics. Spanning oversized double-breasted peacoats, black leather jackets, game vests, velvet pants and wool gabardine coach shirts, to mention a few, each piece has been loosely tailored to breathe new life to classic silhouettes. For example, the red 24oz wool melton peacoat sports an oversized fit, especially around the arms and upper body, to offset its sharp palette. It comes with a double-breasted construction, with contrasting black buttons, raised collars and tonal seams to round off the design.
Other noteworthy pieces include a black leather game vest, heavy-duty cream-colored workwear pants, a dark green checkered suit, flamingo-patterned velvet pants and even a multi-colored button-up with a print of the Statue of Liberty. The assemblage brings a splash of energy to the Nepenthes family with refreshingly uncommon fits and bold color combinations.
