Japanese Soccer Team Enlist 'Thomas The Tank Engine' As Jersey Ambassadors
Percy, Thomas, and James meet Kawasaki Frontale.

Japanese J1-League team Kawasaki Frontale has just released its 2020 warm-up jersey, and the sponsorship/branding is sure to surprise you. The original plan for the jersey was to foster friendly sentiments towards the visiting English footballers practicing at the Kawasaki stadium.
Now, with the current situation of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the training jerseys are available for online purchases. The amazing polyester Puma jersey features a center chest Aqua Live Investment Co., Ltd. sponsorship placement, and most importantly, a Thomas The Tank Engine UK Camp patch at the right sleeve — signifying the three ambassadors for the UK pre-camp.
The colors green, blue and red also appear in a tartan pattern across the front and back; not only are these the official colors of Kawasaki, but they are also the colors of Percy, Thomas, and James, respectively. This endorsement sits up there with Arsenal’s 2000 SEGA Dreamcast deal.
Those looking to pick up the jersey can find it over at the team’s official merch store for ¥17,820 JPY (approximately $167 USD).
In other sports news, the NBA could use a second site to continue the season.
