Rivers Cuomo Offers Intimate Cover of Nirvana's "Heart-Shaped Box"
Performed during the Weezer frontman’s latest ‘Island In The Zoom’ episode.
Rivers Cuomo performed an intimate cover of Nirvana‘s “Heart-Shaped Box” during his Island In The Zoom livestream series, trading in the heavy guitar and drums for a deconstructed piano version.
The Weezer frontman’s ballad rendition is just one of the few live performances he’s done for his Island In The Zoom series, where fans can register to watch Cuomo perform live for 25 minutes every week. His other covers include “All The Small Things” by blink-182 and “Viva La Vida” by Coldplay, along with performances of Weezer originals like “The Good Life.”
Just last week, Weezer dropped off a music video for “Hero,” where the band honored “stay at home dreamers, the zoom graduators, the sourdough bakers, and the essential workers.”

Elsewhere in music, Reading & Leeds Festival 2020 is officially cancelled.
