Known for its high-grade performance running products and investment from tennis great Roger Federer, Swiss footwear brand On is set to stride further into the lifestyle market with a new Cloudnova silhouette. Arriving in “White/Umber” and “Black/Eclipse” colorways, the Cloudnova is crafted specifically for casual wear but retains all the technology that’s made On’s running products so popular.

With a mid-top cut and a chunky tongue, the Cloudnova is almost chukka-like in its shape. This tongue is raised slightly above the engineered upper for texture, and the padded heels feature a strap-like overlay as well. “White/Umber” uses a brisk white tone for the base and adds steel grey accents on tongues, heels and the forefoot. More contrast is provided by tan eyestays, heel tabs and a brown sockliner. Meanwhile, “Black/Eclipse” opts to keep things completely tonal for a stark look.

On logos are present on each shoe’s quarter. Down below, a CloudTec midsole provides signature style with its distinctive hollowed-out pods and cushioning with its bouncy build. This CloudTec setup is paired with a Speedboard plate — visible when you look at the shoe from the bottom — for the same responsive comfort you’d expect from On’s running footwear. JW Anderson and Will Smith have been spotted rocking On’s runners casually in the past, so a limited lifestyle release like this seems to be a natural progression.

The On Cloudnova will release globally in extremely limited quantities on May 7. It’s priced at $150 USD, and will be available through the On webstore as well as select retail partners like Dover Street Market.

Elsewhere, take a look at Nike Sportswear‘s Air Max 90 “Summit White,” which features a linen upper.
