Nike Air Max 90 "Summit White" Offers Linen Uppers and Cork Insoles
A masterful mix of alternate materials hits the NSW classic.

Continuing its 30th anniversary celebration, Nike Sportswear‘s Air Max 90 has released in a new “Summit White” style. Although “Summit White” may be a familiar shade to any Nike aficionado, it’s presented in an entirely new style here, thanks to an appealing mix of materials and plenty of special details.
Eschewing the 90’s standard mesh or leather construction, the “Summit White” instead opts to use a breezy summertime linen for the base. Overlays and eyestays are built from a shaggy grey suede, with the signature mudguard using smooth leather for an appealing material contrast. Rubberized eyelets, heel badges and midfoot windows bring familiar flair, with a bone-colored Swoosh and tongue badge completing the medley.
Although the natural feel of this upper is decidedly appealing, the most unusual detail is hidden. Insoles are constructed of a spongy brown cork material, and painted with a Tom Sachs-esque “Just Do It” script logo in black. EVA midsoles and clear Air Max cushioning units match the upper, and the translucent outsole encases a cacophony of colorful flecks for a recycled look adjacent to Nike’s forthcoming Space Hippie line.
This special Air Max 90 is available now at Nike JP, and retails for a tax-included price of ¥14,300 JPY (approximately $134 USD).
