Nike React Phantom Run Flyknit 2 Releases in "Red Orbit"
An alternate take on classic red, white and blue style.
After debuting in a stark black and white colorway, Nike Running‘s React Phantom Run Flyknit 2 is back in a colorful “Orbit Red” style. Offering a patriotic red, white and blue palette but adding other tones like greens and greys into the mix, the “Orbit Red” brings interesting twists to a familiar color scheme — and serves up a compelling reinterpretation of what a running sneaker can look like.
Essentially a React Infinity Run sans laces, the Phantom Run’s upper is built entirely of Flyknit. This is woven tighter for extra support in some areas and looser for enhanced breathability in others. From a color standpoint, the toebox mixes white and icy blue, while the quarter and heel switch to a dark heather grey. Supportive red cords wrap over the midfoot for extra stability, and blue TPU clips enhance heel lockdown. Branding is handled by black Swooshes on the top of the toebox and embossed details on the heel clips.
Because there are no laces, large black tabs on throat and heel alike assist with entry and removal. The former boasts a white Nike text logo, and the latter adds a green React hit. Down below, the white midsoles are sculpted from cushy React foam. This build increases comfort, reduces injury and is hard-wearing, tested for over 500 miles. Black rubber outsoles finalize the style.
The Nike React Phantom Run Flyknit is available now on Nike, and retails for $140 USD
