DDT Store Celebrates 50th Anniversary of Doraemon With "Comic Time" Bronze Sculpture
Limited to 500 pieces worldwide.
DING DONG Takuhaibin is linking up with Doraemon once again for a bronze statue of Fujiko F. Fujio’s beloved Japanese character. Celebrating the anime’s 50th anniversary, the figure holds a copy of the manga series in its hands while resting in a seated position — the first-ever officially approved image by Doraemon Japan.
Made from a copper casting technology, the Doraemon sculpture arrives in a polished bronze colorway, departing from the character’s familiar blue and white color scheme. The figure’s collar, bell and signature 4D pocket for gadgets are hidden behind the unfolded comic book. Available in a limited edition of 500, each Doraemon sculpture is engraved with a serial number and comes in a handmade wooden box.
Check out the “Comic Time” Doraemon in the slideshow above. Releasing for $3,299 HKD (approx. $425 USD), pre-order of this limited bronze sculpture will begin at 10 a.m. HKT on May 8 on DDT’s website.
Elsewhere, Mattel has dropped a range of Star Wars-themed Barbie dolls for May 4, Star Wars Day.
