Fortnite celebrated its new Party Royale mode with a surprise in-game performance from Diplo, who preformed his Major Lazer set last Friday; the experience is now available to watch in full above. Diplo played hit songs such as “Lean On,” “Lay Your Head On Me,” and “Rave de Favela” for about 30 minutes. Actor and performer Jordan Fisher also made appearances before and after the show.

The new no-guns Party Royale mode Epic Games has introduced promises “a new experimental and evolving space” for players to hang out, play mini-games, or watch live-concerts from music artists. This particular performance comes after Travis Scott’s highly-praised Astronomical Event, a three-day virtual performance that proceeded Party Royale mode and drew 12.3 million concurrent viewers.

The turnout for Travis Scott’s record-breaking event, and the inception of Fortnite‘s new mode, was brought on due to the global quarantine conditions of COVID-19. Of course, this isn’t the only time the title has hosted a similar event: Artist Marshmello held a virtual performance in 2019, which garnered 10.7 million concurrent viewers.

Diplo also released official Fortnite merch for the event, which is available now at majorlazer.com.

In other gaming news, Microsoft announced a new monthly Xbox 20/20 broadcast to announce new games.
