adidas Originals‘ extensive 2020 “Pride Pack” has gained another member, as the UltraBOOST S&L recently appeared in a colorful Pride-inspired makeup. Leaning heavily into its lifestyle inspiration, this colorful UltraBOOST salutes activist Gilbert Baker‘s signature rainbow flag by way of cleverly applied detailing.

Six colors — red, orange, yellow, green, blue and purple — are used on the striped flag, so this UltraBOOST S&L dips each of the six stripes on its black leather midfoot cage into a different tone. Lateral sides offer a warm combo of yellow, red and orange, while medial sides cool things down a touch with purple, blue and green. All six of these colors are replicated on the lace tips. Another special detail appears on the insole, which replaces its standard UB branding with a text hit that reads “We are proud and unapologetic, and we encourage you to be the same. Love unites.”

Meanwhile, the rest of the shoe remains simple to ensure all detail is focused on the signature embellishments. Uppers are constructed from white Primeknit, while forefoot and heel overlays are both built of suede — black on the former and grey on the latter. Gold adidas and UltraBOOST branding is stamped into the heel and printed on the tongue. The look is completed by a full-foot white BOOST midsole and black Continental rubber outsole with a light blue Torsion shank.

The adidas UltraBOOST S&L will debut alongside other silhouettes from the “Pride Pack” on May 15 via the adidas webstore, and is priced at $180 USD.
