Travis Scott's 'Fortnite' Astronomical Tour Drew 12.3 Million Concurrent Viewers
Shattering Marshmello’s virtual performance viewership.
Travis Scott‘s opening Astronomical Tour in Fortnite broke records and drew in the biggest live audience in the game’s history. Over 12.3 million concurrent players participated in the live virtual performance, shattering Marshmello’s 10.7 million concurrent viewers for his virtual performance in February 2019.
The turnout for Travis Scott’s record-breaking event no doubt was boosted due to the global quarantine condition brought on by COVID-19, and functions as a means to enjoy live performances where none are currently taking place. At the same time, the concurrent viewership number reported by Epic Games for the rapper’s virtual concert does not incorporate additional views that would come from Twitch and YouTube.
During the performance, Travis Scott debuted a new track called “The Scotts” featuring Kid Cudi, which is now available for Apple Music and Spotify. After the concert’s airing, Travis Scott also released tour merch that features an action figure set, NERF Elite Dart Blaster and gaming jerseys.
