Apple is currently building a hotel as part of its new, second campus in Northwest Austin.

According to Culture Map – Austin, the tech giant’s original plans for the campus had no mention of a hotel, but it appeared on the revised plan which the City of Austin approved just recently on April 29. The new plans indicate a 192-room, six-story hotel spanning across 75,500 square-feet, with no particular hotel brand attached to it. The structure will be Apple’s very first hotel, as none of the other current campuses boast such an amenity.

As for the new campus itself, located at West Parmer Lane and McNeil Road in Austin, Texas, the $1 billion USD project broke ground back in November last year and is set to open in 2022. Initially, the entire three million square-foot plot will house 5,000 employees, with plans to accommodate up to a whopping 15,000 people. Two million square-feet of the campus will then be dedicated to office spaces.

In other news related to Apple, the tech giant is rumored not to include earpods for the upcoming iPhone 12 packages.
