Summary

NOT A HOTEL AOSHIMA debuts two new villas, CHILL 2.0 and COAST, designed by Shin Ohori.

The CHILL 2.0 maisonette features a 21-meter infinity pool, outdoor lounge, and sauna.

The COAST duplex offers a private pool, garden and 3.2-meter ceilings.

NOT A HOTEL AOSHIMA has expanded its beachfront retreat in Miyazaki with two new villas, CHILL 2.0 and COAST. The new architecture and room layouts were designed by Shin Ohori of GENERAL DESIGN, who also helmed the original buildings, ensuring a seamless visual harmony with Aoshima’s lush, subtropical landscape. By expanding the property’s public spaces to include a skateboard park and verdant green park areas, the updated resort invites guests into a richer, more engaging lifestyle experience.

Serving as an evolution of the resort’s flagship “house of the horizon,” the new CHILL 2.0 room is a third-level maisonette designed to maximize panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean. Accommodating up to six guests, this expansive suite features two ocean-view bedrooms that step directly out onto a shared terrace to catch the sea breeze. The focal point of the outdoor space is a massive 21-meter infinity pool, expanded from the original CHILL footprint, which blends effortlessly into the distant horizon. Adjacent to the water, a floating outdoor living area with a sunken sofa and fireplace invites guests to relax, while a seamlessly connected bath, sauna, and cold plunge system ensures a continuous flow of wellness and tranquility.

The second new addition, COAST, is a duplex spanning the first and second floors that comfortably accommodates up to four people. Situated on a prime oceanfront plot, this house merges the best elements of the property’s earlier “SURF” and “GARDEN” suites by offering both a private pool and a lush, secluded private garden. One of the four units is pet‑friendly, allowing guests to stay with dogs. Inside, COAST boasts soaring 3.2-meter-high ceilings in the living room, establishing a profound sense of depth and openness that complements the tropical environment.

Together, these meticulously crafted residences – alongside the recently renewed, ocean-facing LDK restaurant designed by Ryu Kosaka of A.N.D. – elevate the site’s experience into a fully realized, luxurious beach community. For more details, head over to NOT A HOTEL AOSHIMA’s official website.
