Pokémon and adidas Originals are celebrating Pokémon’s 30th anniversary with an extensive sneaker collection. The lineup spans iconic adidas silhouettes, each reimagined with character-inspired colors, textures, and embellishments that merge gaming nostalgia with streetwear design.
Three Pikachu-themed pairs lead the lineup: the Pokémon x adidas Pro Model “Pikachu” alongside two Superstar “Pikachu” editions. The Pro Model and one Superstar feature fuzzy yellow uppers mimicking Pikachu’s fur, accented with black detailing and Poké Ball lace dubraes. The remaining Superstar iteration opts for a crisp white base with all-over Pikachu graphics, offering a playful alternative to the textured designs. Moving into the Charmander evolution line, the Superstar “Charmander” arrives in cream and orange tones, while the Superstar “Charmeleon” uses scarlet uppers with claw-shaped Three Stripes. The Superstar “Charizard” elevates the theme further with a wing-shaped flap overlaying the eyelets, nodding to Jeremy Scott’s flamboyant adidas collaborations.
Dark, ghostly aesthetics define the next segment. The Adistar XLG 2.0 “Gengar” features deep purple tones with character artwork on the tongue, while the Adistar Control 5 “Haunter” continues the spectral theme with sharp overlays and a sinister palette. Both pairs emphasize adidas’ performance-driven silhouettes while channeling the eerie energy of their Pokémon counterparts.
Mewtwo receives the broadest treatment outside Pikachu, appearing across three models. The Samba OG “Mewtwo” incorporates triangular eyelets referencing the character’s fingers, while the ZX 8000 “Mewtwo” uses lavender and violet tones with a Master Ball dubrae for added detail. The Spezial “Mewtwo” introduces a heel loop inspired by the cord extending from Mewtwo’s neck, reinforcing the character’s bio-engineered aesthetic.
Last but not leas, Rayquaza closes the lineup with two bold designs: the F50 Tunit Mega “Rayquaza”, which retains its Megaride tooling and football-inspired construction, and the Adistar Control 5 “Rayquaza”, both rendered in green-black palettes that echo the legendary dragon’s scales. Across the collection, Poké Ball lace dubraes, character tongue graphics, and bespoke overlays unify the theme, while each silhouette balances adidas heritage with Pokémon storytelling.
