Element Recruits Nigel Cabourn for Cricket-Inspired SS20 Capsule
Taking cues from Cabourn’s rich legacy and the sport’s seasonal palette.

Following its partnerships with Bad Brains and National Geographic, Element is launching yet another thoughtful collaborative effort, this time with iconic British designer Nigel Cabourn. Drawing from Cabourn’s long history of creating garments indebted to his British heritage, the duo have introduced a selection of accessible menswear silhouettes informed by the sport of cricket.
Cabourn’s late ’80s cricket badge-inspired branding is remixed and emblazoned across the assortment of goods, which range from skate-friendly staples to Cabourn’s twist on timeless wardrobe essentials. Summer-friendly themes inform the creations, like pale-toned argyle patterns and hard-wearing yet breathable textiles, accompanied by co-branded skate decks and a ready-to-go Complete board.
Each item is crafted to Cabourn’s unrelenting standards, with plenty of conscious details informing the range. For instance, the 290-gram open-end jersey T-shirts boast a specific, slouchy fit and pigment dye and garment wash treatment, alongside the colorful branding. Meanwhile, the embroidered pants are partially crafted from recycled polyester and cotton while a coaches jacket/pant set feature premium touches like leather pull tabs and fully-reversible construction.

Most recently, Cabourn rejoined Maison Mihara Yasuhiro for more special footwear, this time delivering a bespoke military sneaker.
