New 'Neon Genesis Evangelion' Tamagotchi Let's You Take Care of Your Own Angel

Bandai Premium will be releasing special Neon Genesis Evangelion-themed Tamagotchi based on the series’ EVAs and their three pilots Shinji, Asuka, and Rei. The Tomagachi comes in three variants based on the pilots, but over 20 Angel from the series will be available to take care of. They also feature special EVA-themed animations upon use.

Hideaki Anno’s influential anime focuses on three child mech pilots defending Neo Tokyo from several invading creatures called Angels. The series has been regarded as one of the best anime series of all time and has since gone on launch several spin-off games, shows, and films. The final installment of its remake/reboot film series Rebuild of Evangelion 4.0 is expected to finally come to a conclusion at the end of the year.

The Evangelion-designed Tamagotchi is expected to arrive June 13 in Japan, however, reservations start today on the official Evangelion shopping site.
