Toyota Announces Japan-Exclusive 2021 GR Supra in Horizon Blue
The highly-limited edition features an upgraded 382 HP engine.
For those unfamiliar with the Toyota GR Supra, the famed JDM model is split into SZ, SZ-R, and RZ trims in Japan, with the RZ iteration opting for a 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six rather than a 2.0-liter four-cylinder. For 2021, Toyota enhanced the RZ with increased power, revealing two special-edition models, the Horizon Blue and Matte Storm Gray Metallic editions.
The engine is arguably the most noticeable change in the upgraded model, upping the horsepower from 335 to 382 and improving its 0-60 mph sprint to 3.9 seconds. Other adjustments include improved handling, with an added front brace increasing body rigidity and a retuned suspension allowing for fast cornering.
The Horizon Blue Edition of the 2021 Toyota GR Supra RZ includes new 19-inch matte black aluminum wheels and matching interior accents, further limited to just 100 units. The Matte Storm Gray Metallic Edition is limited to 27 units and will be sold via a lottery system. Currently, however, there’s no word as to whether or not these editions or RZ upgrades will arrive stateside.
