Young Nudy's "Understanding" Video Takes the East Atlanta Rapper Back Home
Nudy shines in the intro track to his recent ‘Anyways’ project.
Fresh off his stellar 16-track offering Anyways back in February, Atlanta rapper Young Nudy is back with a new music video for the intro track in “Understanding.” The goal here is pretty overt: Young Nudy sets out to let his listeners know that he’s grown as a person and as an artist but is still the same kid who grew up hustling through the trials and tribulations of his East Atlanta neighborhood with cousin 21 Savage.
Nudy previously announced Anyways with the quick-hitting “No Go” single showcasing a late-night journey through his hometown full of convenient store stops, comedic cocaine deals gone wrong and thirsty Instagram cross-promotion inquiries. Nudy isn’t holding back on his new record either with a not-so-subtle shot at Gunna on “Blue Cheese Salad.” Here, the iNightlyfe directed visual utilizes some crazy devil-smoking-a-blunt animations that contrasts realistic cuts to robbing trap-houses and police on patrol.
Anwyays builds from last year’s Sli’merre collaboration Pi’erre Bourne and Faded In The Booth, with both making a firm argument that the prolific rapper is a legitimate star-in-the-making. That was all solidified once he caught the ear of J.Cole and was a featured artist on the GRAMMY Nominated Revenge of the Dreamers III.
