Woolrich Outdoor Label has returned for Spring/Summer 2020, taking inspiration from the untouched nature of the first section of the Appalachian Mountain Trail. Referencing the challenges of this trail, including temperature and altitude changes, the collection focuses on durability and utility.
With an emphasis on layering to take on these challenges, stand-out themes of the collection include quick dry merino wool that works as a second skin, lightweight fabrics used on packable designs, and an insulation layer to maintain heat. Other reference points for the collection include classic Hunting Jacket silhouettes and patterns including Shadowbark, while materials, while materials such as Cordura, Peterex and Solotex are used for their technical capabilities.
Additionally, Woolrich has announced a number of innovations and techniques that help make the SS20 collection more sustainable. For this collection, the brand has used a Less Waste pattern-making technology to reduce fabric wastage, a Green Cycle approach guided by a ripstop recyclable nylon, and a focus on biodegradable materials and components where possible.
The SS20 collection rom Woolrich Outdoor Label is available now from the brand’s web store, and flagship locations around the world will release the collection once they reopen their doors.
