Medicom Toy Immortalizes Larry Bird & Scottie Pippen in BE@RBRICK Form
An homage to their legacies.
Like its previously released Elvis Presley or AJ Styles portrayals, Medicom Toy is no stranger to anthropomorphizing its collectible BE@RBRICKS. The Japanese toymaker has looked to two legends in the NBA this time around, immortalizing Larry Bird and Scottie Pippen in their team jerseys.
Larry Bird is seen in its green Boston Celtics uniform, a crisp tanktop with retro shorts. The figure comes with neutral-toned ears, blonde hair, blue eyes, and a thick mustache. Emblazoned below is Bird’s player number “33” next to the NBA’s official logo subtly stamped at the upper left corner of the jersey. Complementing its shorts are high-ankle socks as a nod to Bird’s vintage uniform. In contrast, Scottie Pippen’s attire is more modern; the player is depicted with high-top sneakers and knee-length shorts, matching its fitted jersey, which also happens to share the same player number as Larry Bird’s. As finishing touches, the toy comes with details like a black band around the left arm, Pippen’s goatee and gray ears.
Both the Larry Bird and Scottie Pippen BE@RBRICKs are currently available on CJ Mart’s website for $118 USD.
