Typing… is a new line from Benjamin Edgar Gott and Peace & Quiet founder Christion Lennon that isn’t minimal or maximal. Gott, a close friend of Virgil Abloh, founded Boxed Water and The Brillance, an ‘odd’ blog for collaborative ideas in the early days of the Internet. Typing…’s collection, named “Beta” Launch, is composed of apparel and tote bags in a variety of bright, aesthetically pleasing colors offered at an affordable price point. The brand is in pursuit of simpler aesthetics and driven by the idea that “fonts are the clothes words wear.”
Inspired by the intersection of vocabulary and typographic design, each piece features a single word, often uncommon, laid out in a typeface that best matches its definition. According to the brand’s founders, the graphics read as one-word poems that are a “playful interpretation of the uselessness of typefaces but also a bit of a nod to the wearer of the T-shirt as well.”
Pieces from Typing…’s debut collection retail between $15 to $60 USD and to learn more, head over to typing.network.
