Billionaire Boys Club Recruits Meguru Yamaguchi for Paint-Splattered Capsule Collection
Staple layering pieces informed by Yamaguchi’s illustrative swirls.

The Japanese branch of Billionaire Boys Club has recruited Brooklyn artist Meguru Yamaguchi for a color-drenched collaboration showcasing the artists’ unique swirling artwork. Staple layering pieces sport the statement graphics, which blend Yamaguchi’s recognizable style with BBC’s classic imagery.
This isn’t Yamaguchi’s first collaborative apparel range, but it it is his boldest, placing emphasis squarely on his sweeping paint splashes. BBC’s Astronaut logo co-mingles with a monochrome rendering of the artist’s abstract work, while rectangle-shaped prints grace the sleeves and rear of track jackets, cozy hoodies and boxy T-shirts. Shiny coaches jackets feature all-over graphics, while Yamaguchi’s graffiti-indebted text lends extra visual interest to other items, juxtaposed against bold BBC branding and paneled track pants.
Look for the limited edition items to hit Billionaire Boys Club’s Japanese web store and physical outposts in Harajuku and Shibuya PARCO soon.
Street-friendly art-centric collaborations are having a bit of a moment, what with XLARGE’s Hajime Sorayama range and Element’s Bad Brains capsule, which features artwork from founding member Darryl Jenifer.
