SiR Debuts "You Can't Save Me" Music Video from Last Year's 'Chasing Summer' LP
With cameos from Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock, Guapdad 4000 and more.
SiR is still Chasing Summer. The Top Dawg Ent. singer-songwriter released his single “You Can’t Save Me” almost a calendar year ago, and today the Inglewood native returns with a new visual featuring guest appearances from a few friends in Isaiah Rashad, Jay Rock and Guapdad 4000 to name a few.
“Summer is freedom. When you’re a kid, you think summer means no school, you think fun in a beach, family time. When you’re an adult, you think vacations, warmth, comfort and relaxing sessions. Summer is success. It’s being able to enjoy yourself through the fruits of your labor,” SiR told HYPEBEAST in an interview last year. “I always envision summer being freedom. With this album I was chasing a certain type of freedom but I was battling with myself trying to find something I already had. I just used that analogy in relation to relationships. I feel like we definitely paint a vivid picture with Chasing Summer. I found out that I already had my summer.”
In the candid “You Can’t Save Me” music video, SiR tries to balance hanging at home in the context of his budding relationship and the temptations brought on by partying with his friends. He watches friends get married and stay faithful and sadly sings at their wedding.
SiR last appeared on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Series back in February with an emotional performance that showcased his ability to captivate in any setting. Then he connected with creative Mez for a behind-the-scenes look at his “Mood” music video.
