Interdisciplinary artist Jun Cha is back with the latest design under his CAPO series, unveiling a range of elevated rings that boast Cha’s penchant for skulls and “embracing mortality.” Offered in three luxe finishes of polished brass, sterling silver and 14k gold, the rings continue the artist’s underlying message of focusing on life “in the present moment.”

Each edition features hollowed-out eyes and a wreath-style crown at the top. They’re inscribed on the interior with the phrase “Memento Mori,” a reminder that death is an eventual destination for all. A singular butterfly rounds out the details on the back of the ring, which comes packaged in a custom, black wooden box to cement the dark undertones.

Cha’s CAPO RING measures approximately 23mm and weighs approx. 25g for the polished brass edition (which is priced at $350 USD), 35g for the sterling silver ($450 USD) and 40g for the 14k gold ($2,350 USD). The capsule releases on March 10 and is available to order now at Jun Cha’s webstore.

While Cha’s rings offer a premium take on skulls for the jewelry world, his previous CAPO editions have presented more decorative options. In the fall, he released his second set of skull casts titled “CAPO II,” an assortment of intricate sculptural works.
