Pro Skater Rowan Zorilla Receives Signature Vans Silhouette
Dubbed the Rowan Pro.
Rowan Zorilla is a skateboarding renaissance man, with a knack for mixing old-school form with modern-day maneuvers. Now, Vans is acknowledging his unique skill set with a new Rowan Pro silhouette. Simultaneously contemporary and classic, Zorilla’s first-ever signature sneaker offers recognizable vulc style and new performance innovations in equal measures.

Presented in five different colors — light denim blue, dark navy blue, black/white, white/gum and tan/pink/black — the Rowan Pro offers a cut that’s slightly higher than an Old Skool but not as tall as a Sk8-Mid. Uppers are constructed of a durable synthetic, and overlaid with supple triple-stitched suede in high-wear areas.
Two new technological innovations are present as well: SickStick and PopCush. SickStick is a proprietary gum rubber compound that offers increased grip and lasting durability, touted as the grippiest gum sole in Vans’ 50-plus year history. PopCush is a brand-new midsole foam that offers increased impact absorption and energy return, allowing the wearer to jump higher and land harder with no ill effects. The shoes are also accompanied by apparel, ranging from a denim chore coat and utility pant to T-shirts both long- and short-sleeve with graphics created by artist Mike Lotte.
Zorilla has been on a meteoric rise over the last 5 years: he had a standout part in 2015’s ‘Propeller,’ the first-ever full length film from Vans Skateboarding, and was made an official Baker team member by the legendary Andrew Reynolds in 2016. He then featured in William Strobeck‘s memorable 2018 Supreme skate film ‘Blessed’ and received yet another full-length part in the recent ‘Baker 4,” a run that culminates with this — his first signature sneaker.
The Vans Rowan Pro will release on the Vans webstore and at select skate stockists February 15. A retail price has yet to be announced.
