Nike Air Max 90-20 Is Covered In Tiny Air Max Bubbles
And accented with soapy iridescent overlays.
When Nike‘s Air Max 90 first debuted back in 1990, it boasted the largest exposed Air unit to date — and by doing so, it paved the way for other max-sized Max silhouettes like the Air Max 95, Air Max 360 and Air Max 720. Now, it’s paying homage to that conspicuous cushioning unit with a new “bubble” makeup that’s covered from heel to toe in tiny Air Max bubbles.
White mesh uppers are completely coated by these glistening globules, adding a blink-and-you’ll-miss-it pebbled texture to the classic Tinker Hatfield design. Meanwhile, overlays add a visibly bold iridescent sheen that’s constructed from high-gloss synthetics and proffers multi-colored detailing.
The somewhat puzzling inspiration behind this bold choice of accent is made evident by the insoles, which feature an all-over soap bead graphic. A white rubberized Air Max heel badge and plain nylon tongue with more droplets on its patch add classic style. Down below, crisp white midsoles encase a clear Air Max cushioning unit, and unadorned white outsoles finalize the styling.
A release date for these bubbly Air Max 90s has yet to be announced, but you can expect them to hit retailers like Noir Fonce soon, complete with an MSRP of $140 USD.
