Geo Owen Launches Retro Graphic-Laden Gear for SS20
The former DONDA graphic designer launches his most expansive range to date.
Multitalented Geo Owen has offered a host of apparel-related goods for several years now, but only recently has the former DONDA graphic designer collected various ideas into conventional seasonal collections. Geographics (GEOGFX for short) is Owen’s graphic-centric sub-label, accompanying the designer’s ready-to-wear GEO range with a host of retro-indebted designs for Spring/Summer 2020, recalling vintage electronics and advertisements.
First launched in 2016, GEO has since evolved into much more than a mere merch label. 2020 sees the debut of a proper GEOGFX range, encompassing a host of tees, hats and accessories that are ostensibly more affordable than GEO’s mainline fare. Emblazoned with ’90s-era computer graphics, WordArt-style branding and tiny logos, the range of T-shirts encompass a strict color palette — versatile black and white mostly — so as to emphasize Owen’s trademark designs. A large photo of the Earth appears on one tee, while another sports a colorful print that evokes retro games like Space Harrier. Accompanying the shirts is a single hoodie, trio of colorful socks and selection of hats, including one safari-indebted cap complete with removable velcro patch.
