Vans "Overply" Collection Provides Skaters With a Dressier Look
New look, same great taste.

Vans introduces its “Overply” series of sneakers which apply a dressier take on its iconic low-top offerings; this addition altera the look but maintains the functionality for its time-honored kicks.
The collection, which utilizes a Slip-On, Era, and Old Skool model, tops the upper with an “overply” layer of fabric. This both serves as an additional reinforcement texture as well as providing the sneaker with a revitalized look that can come off both formal and still casual due to its subtlety.
The Slip-On — altered as a Sk8 Qtr — arrives in white with a white overply that mimics the look of a Brogue shoe with its perforations. A tanned leather midsole surround also adds to the luxury feel for the timeless Slip-On model.
As for the laced models, the Navy Era accents the canvas majority upper with a smooth leather overply that contrasts nicely, while the black pair uses the Old Skool “striped” body and adds a reinforcement layer that wraps both the toes and ollie panel. These two pairs also adopt the tanned leather midsole wrap like the Slip-On.
Pick up your preferred “Overply” pair now over at Vans. The Slip-On and Slip Vamp Era retail for $75 USD, while the Era Vamp Old Skool is priced at $80 USD. If you’re looking for more classic pairs of Vans, check out the collaborative “TV Static” collection produced with photographer Jim Goldberg.
