H.E.R. and Skip Marley Perform Seamless Rendition of "Slow Down" on 'The Tonight Show'
Complete with dancehall vibes.
The music industry can’t get enough of R&B sensation H.E.R., who in the past month alone has released three catchy new songs, including a buzzy remix to “Slide” featuring Pop Smoke, A Boogie Wit da Hoodie and Chris Brown. Jimmy Fallon is now the latest to call upon the singer for her smooth tunes and silky voice, hosting the artist alongside Skip Marley for a live rendition of their record “Slow Down” on Wednesday night’s episode of The Tonight Show.
The musicians staged a dancehall-worthy scene for their mellow duet, complete with red and green-tinged lights and a group of sensual background dancers that helped build up the steamy mood all the while. Marley and H.E.R.’s chemistry was palpable throughout, with the duo playing off of each other’s reggae-meets-soul vibes for a seamless performance. H.E.R. was recently nominated for five Grammy awards at the 2020 awards ceremony, where she released one of her first new singles of the year, “Sometimes.” She secured two Grammy wins at the 2019 show, including best R&B album for her impressive debut project, H.E.R.. Last week, she released the sentimental track “Comfortable,” tapping DJ Camper for production and Anthony Clemons, Jr. for backing vocals.
Skip Marley has also dropped collaborations with other big names in the past year. Last May, he linked up with Major Lazer for their song “Can’t Take It From Me” from their fourth studio album, Music Is The Weapon.
