ORBITGear & idle/idō's Technical Collection Is Designed for Everyday Commutes
From onigiri-inspired bags to waterproof jackets.
Jakarta-based technical gear imprint ORBITGear and Kuala Lumpur-based brand idle/idō have teamed up for “OSMOSIS,” a collaborative capsule collection. Both Southeast Asian brands seek to bring balance between aesthetics and functionality, crafting technical gear that improves commuting experiences in both style and comfort.
With the intention to “bring balance to one’s lifestyle through the process of OSMOSIS,” ORBITGear and idle/idō’s all-black range of apparel and accessories is inspired by and intended for urban nomads. Manufactured at the hands of the craftsmen at ORBITGear’s Jakarta studio, the collection’s stand-out pieces include a waterproof jacket with detachable hood and large zippered chest pockets, as well as accompanying pants cut from stretch fabric and laden with clip-friendly straps.
Elsewhere, a graphic T-shirt is printed using a manual silkscreen method in Indonesia while a “2Way” pack takes cues from the shape of onigiri rice balls, with a concise shape that encourages easy movment. Throughout “OSMOSIS,” premium YKK zippers, cargo pockets and velcro detailing demonstrate ORBITGear’s utilitarian design approach.
