adidas Originals rejoins progressive Japanese imprint Bed J.W. Ford for the duo’s second collaborative effort, delivering Spring/Summer 2020 goods and kicks that revamp traditional adidas items. Utilitarian footwear anchors the flowing layers and bright color-blocking, bolstering conventional details with thoughtful stylistic accents.

A lengthy kimono-inspired coat and elevated coaches jacket deliver crispy nylon and clever paneling that serves to both interrupt the green-tinged palette and add special details, like angled weld pockets, an internal carrying strap and co-branded adidas stripes. A zippered hoodie, matching pullover and sleek track pants encourage modular dressing, with louche cuts and complementary detailing for mix-and-match styling.

The adidas Crazy BYW and Supercourt each receive thematic makeovers, with versatile colorways to accompany the collection’s statement pieces. The Crazy BYW offers its usual cushioned BOOST outsole and mixed-material upper, with white, green and flashes of yellow lending the tall shoe alluring graphic appeal. Meanwhile, the Supercourt boasts a ballet-inspired collapsible heel and minimalist touches, like the stark leather paneling on the tongue, heel and toebox that lend slight contrast to the tennis-inspired shoe’s neutral base.

Expect adidas’ site and select stockists like SSENSE to host the new offering on February 29.

Meanwhile, adidas’ all-star collaborations continue with the forthcoming Palace Golf range.
