Following its FW19 editorial seen back in December, Canadian label HAVEN is back with its brand new SS20 lineup, showcasing an expansive range of tech-heavy pieces in a new lookbook. The visuals is set amidst a faint overcast, highlighting an assemblage of masterfully constructed technical garments optimized for Canada’s distinctive seasonal climates — each piece has been equipped with a bevy of utilitarian details, yet remains highly wearable.
Riffing off military and workwear inspirations, the SS20 range features bomber jackets, waterproof parkas, plaid button-ups, nylon trousers, shorts, T-shirts, cargo pants and other accessories like hats and beanies. One noteworthy piece is the Pilot Utility Bomber that incorporates plenty of contrasting metal hardware. The piece sees a slightly boxy fit, accentuated by the jacket’s sleek nylon satin shell that gives it an opulent finish. Apart from its unique cargo zip pockets at the waist, other functional details include a rich mesh lining found on the inside for added breathability.
Another highlight is the Apex Parka, featuring a special compressed knit polyester by Japanese manufacturer KOMATSU. The unique weave from the fabric makes the piece highly wind and water-resistant while offering a delicate texture that feels smooth. Furthermore, this material gradually sculpts to the wearer’s body and develops distinctive patinas over time. The piece sees a substantial storm hood, raised collars, twin welt pockets at the chest and double flap pockets at the waist, while Primaloft® Gold insulation in its liner offers optimal heat retention. Other pieces like the mil-spec-inspired field pants, gray zip-up jacket, short-sleeve button-ups, brown chinos, shirts, T-shirts and bucket hats round up the expansive assemblage.
