HANON & Mizuno Create Whisky-Inspired Sky Medal
Named “The Angel’s Share.”
Scottish footwear stalwart HANON has linked up with Mizuno for a 30th anniversary collaboration inspired by Scotland and Japan’s shared love for whisky. The Sky Medal colorway is named “The Angel’s Share,” taking its name from the percentage of alcohol that evaporates from a cask into the air while the whisky is aging.
The sneaker comes constructed from dark brown corduroy across the upper, with other panelling coming in a “Chocolate Brown” pig suede underlay and further corduroy in a bright blue. Finishing off the sneaker’s upper is a light cream pig suede on the toe. Other details include the Mizuno’s classic Sky Medal “RunBird” logo, as well as tonal branding on the heel and tongue and the Gaelic phrase “Uisge Beatha,” which translates as “water of life” and is often used to describe whisky.
