Gucci's Tennis 1977 Sneaker Emerges From the Archives in Seven New Iterations
Welcoming Mickey Mouse motifs, “GG” prints and vintage distressing.
Gucci has unearthed the Tennis 1977 sneaker from its archives, introducing seven new iterations of the retro low-profile silhouette.
Under Alessandro Michele‘s vision, Gucci has welcomed both new and archived prints and motifs onto the body of the Tennis 1977, seeing pairs that tap the recent Disney x Gucci collaboration and others that sport an all-over “GG” motif design. Aside, the Italian house offers a cream canvas womenswear pair that combines the aforementioned signature print with an apple graphic, as well as a vintage-looking navy pair that has been given the dirtied treatment.
All of the Tennis 1977 sneakers on offer come equipped with Gucci’s iconic webbing stripe on the mid-panel, a thin sole unit that sports a wavy stripe and “GG” logos, heritage logo branding on the tongue and a set of complementing laces.
