Acne Studios' "Monster in My Pocket" Collection Celebrates '90s Zombies, Werewolfs & More
Featuring illustrations inspired by Joe Morrison and John Weems’ work.
Acne Studios has tapped cult-defining illustrators Joe Morrison and John Weems for a Spring 2020 capsule collection dubbed “Monster in My Pocket.” Morrison and Weems are two former senior executives at Mattel who joined together to create a media franchise of the same name, which has produced 200 unique monsters that appeared as toys, trading cards, in video games and more.
The collection spotlights four monsters designed by the duo in the 1990s — the Zombie, Werewolf, Triton and the Great Beast — which have each been screen printed onto signature Acne Studios garments. Standout pieces include a range of all-over-printed bucket hats, a white shirt sporting a large cartoon graphic panel, and the embroidered socks.
Elsewhere, Acne Studios presents T-shirts and sweatshirts, a hoodie, a knitted jumper and a selection of silk scarfs, the latter providing a colorful and playful accent to the somewhat muted palette found throughout the collection. Rounding out the “Monster in My Pocket” capsule is a baseball hat featuring a large front-facing patch and a black button-up shirt.
The collection is available at select Acne Studios stores and online from February 8 with prices ranging from $65 USD to $800 USD, and can be seen in full above.
