Brooks Brothers & Junya Watanabe MAN Unveil Ivy-Inspired Capsule
Collegiate styles reconstructed.

Following its collaboration with Reigning Champ unveiled last week, Junya Watanabe MAN is back with another co-sign, this time calling in New York menswear clothier Brooks Brothers for a concise lineup of ivy-inspired goods. Junya’s signature patchwork detailing and reconstruction blends seamlessly with Brooks Brothers’ classic silhouettes, whose sartorial Manhattan heritage stretches all the way back to 1818 New York City — the oldest menswear label in America.
Featured are two patchwork button-downs, a zip-up shirt and a two-button blazer, colored in blue, white and navy. One noteworthy piece is the navy blazer, which comes with a slightly elongated cut that echoes its collegiate heritage. The piece is embellished with gold buttons at the center as well as the sleeve cuffs, while the back comes with a muted tiger-camo print that stretches from the yoke to the torso. Nuanced details like notched lapels and breathable vents at the back complete the design.
Another highlight is a new take on Brooks Brothers’ iconic button-down “Polo Color Shirt.” It comes with plaid patchwork detailing around the yoke and sleeves, complemented by cotton Oxford fabrics along the chest pockets, elbow patches and underarms. As a final touch, the shirt sees cream-colored buttons and Brooks Brothers’ embroidered logo at the upper left chest. Lastly, the light blue candy-striped zip-up shirt rounds up the concise capsule.
The Junya Watanabe MAN x Brooks Brothers Capsule is currently available at Brooks Brothers’ physical store in Aoyama, Tokyo as well as select Junya Watanabe MAN retailers, ranging from $526 – $1,635 USD.
