Injury Reserve Returns With Another Loosie in Short but Sweet "Waste Management" Single
Produced by Melik XYZ.
Following the release of “Hoodwinked” from just two days ago, Injury Reserve is back already with its latest song “Waste Management,” a track that’s packed with personality and shines a light on the group’s inventive flows.
Produced by Melik XYZ, the song is steeped in a scratchy lo-fi beat that loops tinny drums, hazy synths and echoing background vocals. Ritchie With a T, Stepa J. Groggs and Parker Corey come through with short and sweet chant-like verses, repeating the words “That’s wasteful” and “You wasting all a n*gga’s time.” Though the song feels a lot like an interlude, clocking in at a little over the one-minute mark, its catchy refrains still deliver enough punch to make the track feel complete while echoing the idea of the song — to not waste time. Other notable lyrics include lines like “They tryna interview while my girl’s in the fitting room” and “He tryna be rude but I ain’t finna dish out the sauce.”
