The Demna Gvasalia-helmed label has taken to the newsroom for its campaign video, delivering an eerie, esoteric production that sees models sporting the latest Balenciaga garments while reporting on obscure headlines. In a show dubbed “BLNCG Live,” models can be seen mouthing soundless and unfathomable words while wearing Balenciaga’s retro-futuristic sunglasses, as well as a number of key sportswear-indebted and tailoring-heavy looks.
In “BLNCG Live,” B-roll footage of pedestrians on the street show more of Balenciaga SS20 offerings, showcasing the Hello Kitty bag and plenty of formal footwear options. The footage is put together in a four-minute-long production that is backed by an electronic tune by Wolf Eyes, coming together to comment on climate change and the future of politics in a dystopian Balenciaga-clad future.
