TELFAR and Converse Launch Two Chuck 70 Hi Pre-Collaborations with All-Over Graphics
The graphic-heavy iterations were first previewed on the Paris Fashion Week runway earlier this year.
While most notably known for his quick-to-sell-out handbags, on-the-rise fashion designer Telfar Clemens is momentarily shifting his efforts to the footwear market to introduce his newest Chuck 70 colorways with Converse. These iterations first walked the runway during Paris Fashion Week in early 2020, and serve as a pre-collaborative capsule to heighten anticipation for the official TELFAR x Converse collection set for a Spring 2021 arrival.
TELFAR selects the classical Chuck 70 Hi silhouette as the canvas here, and reimagines each take with all-over graphics. The lighter hued option in this two-piece capsule makes use of an angelic base layer, and wraps its entire upper with vintage blue oversized star logos on the lateral and medial walls, the former of which is slightly faded out in tint. Following suit are doses of “Chili Pepper” accents that sprinkle along the shoe laces and toe tips, natural white medial Converse patches swathed in hairy suede and beige and bold “TELFAR” branding printed out across the midsoles.
Its release sibling steers in the more darker-toned direction by applying stark black to the backgrounds of its base layer and bottom pieces. On top of this, American flag graphics along with oversized “2020” and “TELFAR” text hits sprawl from front to back, even going so far as to bleed onto the midsole. Like the first-mentioned colorway, the medial Converse logo also comes executed with off white suede materials. Midsole overlays towards the toe tips also usher in triangular patterns that alternate in greyscale hues to round off its look.
Both colorways are available now on the Converse web store for $120 USD a piece.
