HANON Brings Premium Touches to Padmore & Barnes' Higgins Boat Shoe
Updating the 1978 silhouette.
Scottish footwear stalwart HANON has reunited with Padmore & Barnes for a new collaboration focused on the Higgins leisure shoe. The joint pack features two colorways of the boat shoe-inspired silhouette, which was first introduced by the brand back in 1978.
Despite being a lesser-known Padmore & Barnes silhouette, the Higgins shoe features the Irish label’s signature hand stitched uppers and a moccasin-style construction. The collaborative release with HANON contains two colorways of the shoe, both of which have been handcrafted in Portugal and feature premium Italian leathers. Stand-out features include the contrasting moccasin stitch and a plush calfskin leather lining. The shoe also features some notable divergences from the original, as the metal eyelets are removed and the traditional crepe sole is replaced by a TPR unit.
Take a look at the HANON x Padmore & Barnes Higgins shoes in the gallery above. Limited to just 48 pairs of each colorway, the “Bitter Chocolate” and “Mushroom Grey” shoes are both due to launch via the HANON Launches site on December 18.
