Nike's Latest Air Presto Nods to the Silhouette's "Origins"
Reeling back two decades.
Nike‘s latest iteration of the Air Presto is an ode to the silhouette’s debut from two decades back. The Air Presto first came out with a number of colorways that were given “wacky” names, according to Nike, like “Brutal Honey,” “Trouble at Home” and “Shady Milkman;” fast-forward to today, the footwear label has emblazoned the silhouette with an all-over print of loony characters that nod to the colorways of the Air Presto’s initial release.
Starting at the top of the shoe is a semi-translucent patch logo at the tongue, followed by a set of white laces that cover the forefoot. Like the tiny badge at the tip of the tongue, the shoe’s heel and sidewall panels also come in semi-clear rubber materials to show as much of the uppers’ vibrant pattern as possible. Bold multi-colored graphics cover the shoe’s entire body, complemented by an embroidered Swoosh near the toebox, “Presto!” branding at the heel and additional Nike checks at the midsection of the shoe’s white midsole. A contrasting black heel support has been added to the sole as a finishing touch.
Nike’s Air Presto “Origins” will be available on December 17, 11 p.m. EST on Nike’s website for $130 USD.
